We all know that sitting all day is bad for our health (see this Washington Post piece for specifics), but one experimental study has gone to the extreme by eliminating sitting in the office setting.

It sounds like a crazy idea, but they designed and office where workers can’t sit. The exhibit called called “The End of Sitting” is an office doesn’t have traditional chairs and desks—instead, it has three-dimensional geometric shapes that workers can lean against, stand on, perch on, and even lie on top of throughout the day. Participants reported feeling more energized after standing or leaning in the sculpture labyrinth than they do in traditional office settings. Could this be the future of offices workers everywhere?
